Hou Yi Shooting the Suns

Hou Yi Shooting the Suns
Long long ago, there were ten suns in the sky. They were shiny and naughty. They played in the sky all day long. It was so hot that plants could hardly survive. People were hungry and thirsty, and many people died. Then, a hero appeared. His name was Hou Yi. Hou Yi used a bow and arrow to shoot  nine of the ten suns down. The earth cooled down and people were very thankful to Hou Yi. Finally, Hou Yi lived a happy life with Chang’ e.

The Tortoise and the Hare (sequel)

The Tortoise And The Hare (sequel )
The hare was very nervous about the last race; he thought  the tortoise would never pass  him, but the tortoise just had passed him, and then he won the race. This time, the hare wanted to race him again, he swore that he would never rest in the race, so he went to find the tortoise. Later, he found the tortoise. “Let’s race again,” said the hare. “Okay,” said the tortoise. Two days later, they both went  to the race. “The race is about to begin!” said the referee. Before the referee could count down, the tortoise grabbed the hare’s tail. “Three, two, one, go!” said the referee. The tortoise quickly climbed up the hare’s back. When the hare was ahead of the finished line, the tortoise jumped up, and flew over the finished line.
“The tortoise won again!” said the referee. The tortoise used his wisdom to win the race.

Never Trust a Stranger

 Never Trust a Stranger
Once upon a time there was a city called Megopolis. There animals can talk, but still some clever carnivores can trick prey to their home and----EAT THEM!! But this story is about a clever mouse who tricked the cat who wanted to eat her.
It all began when it was  Monday morning; “Wake UP Rosa!” cried a loud voice. A little mouse came down the stairs dragging a red hood behind; her name was Rosa but everyone called  her Little Red Riding Hood. She is a cute mouse who had a curly long tail and red fur (it’s dyed) and of course a red coat; this morning her mom called her because her gran is sick, so Rosa is going to send her some oatmeal cookies. She opened the door and said goodbye to her mom and walked out; as she turned the corner a lizard ran toward her; he picked up her basket and snarled, "What’s in the basket?” “Oh nothing,” said Rosa. But the lizard already began to open the basket; suddenly a cat with a hat walked by and said, “Stop that right now!” The cat was bigger then the lizard so the lizard had to go; “Curse you cat, I will get you next time.” The lizard snarled, but the cat turned to Rosa. He asked her address, but clever Rosa didn’t tell him;  she told him a dog's address. When she got to her grandma’s house she found out the dog was with her. Rosa give her gran the cookies but the dog refused to have some;  she let out a burp and said, “I  already had a snack.”
And that’s the story about Rosa and her clever idea.

Hello!

I have established this blog, because my son, who used to patiently type these onto blogs, is grown and busy. Also, he has most of the control of the other blog, as he was the one who was using it, and I need to be able to control this one as I put more onto it. Mostly, these days, I'm getting Chinese ones. But more will come. It's a lifelong project.

Would you like to add one? I would love to have it. Just write me and I will make sure your folk tale gets on our system. Our system now includes this one, the Folk Tale Index, and the one that Noah so patiently created.

I hope you enjoy our folk tales!
