I have read “the Rabbit and the Turtle”. I think it is a funny folk
tale, so I like it very much.
It is about a rabbit and a turtle having a running race. First, lots of
animals came to the Autumn Athletic Meeting. Then, the rabbit
said “Let’s have a race” to the turtle. The turtle replied, “OK!” Next, they
started the race. At first, the rabbit ran very fast, but
after that the rabbit went to a big tree and fell asleep. Because the rabbit has fallen asleep, the
turtle walked and walked. But when the turtle almost got to the finish line,
the rabbit woke up and started to run again. Finally, the turtle got to the
finish line. Everybody
cheered.
This folk tale tells us a truth; it is that
conceit makes one lag behind, modesty makes people
progress.
